Why Did You Choose This Topic?

Welcome back to day 8 of the #blackcode28 Black History Month 28 day challenge. Today is a journaling day!

Let’s talk about why you chose your specific topic or theme for the website. As we know, the subject should surround Black History Month. 

For my website, I chose the Black Code or Black Laws of 1866 and 1866. I didn’t know enough about this part of history and wanted to explore it more. 

Here is a few writing prompts to help you dig deeper into the WHY for your topic or person. 

1. What interested you about this topic, theme, or person?
2. How much did you know about this topic, theme, or person before the project?
3. What are some interesting facts that you have learned? 
4. Does this topic or person challenge you to move into the greatest version of yourself? 

Lastly, write from your heart and try not to over-analyze your words. No one will see your journal entry. But if you want to them on Instagram, use #blackcode28.
