Welcome back to day 17 of the #blackcode28 Black History Month 28 day challenge. Today we will try to design a simple logo for our minimal site.
Logo Creation Websites
Many options exist to aide in the creation of a logo for those who lack the artistic ability to design one from scratch. But I want to remind you that since we believe in a growth mindset everything and anything is possible! You may not be a Van Gogh or the girl that designed the NIKE swoosh but you know what you want in a design and that is the most important part.
Take some time to review a few of your favorite logo designs. Note what you like about the logo design, color, and what feelings it conjures up when you view it. There are many sites that will walk you through the meaning of different colors or even typography but we want to keep this process simple since we are beginners.
Websites like CANVA are a great start for logo creators. The site has many examples and royalty free designs that you may play around with for your design. Apps like Pixelmator, which can be found in the App store for Macs, offers a great low budget option to Photoshop or InDesign.
Keep It Simple
Your logo can be as simple as a word with a specific color or just a shape. Choose a design that fits your website topic. I can’t wait to see all the completed websites at the end of this challenge. If you use Instagram be sure to use the #blackcode28 hashtag to show off your coding skills and site design.
That’s it for today. See you tomorrow for Day 18!
